Your First Visit

Prior to your child’s first visit to our office, you will receive a package in the mail. This package will include an introductory letter, a storybook about our office (for kids 6 years old and younger), medical/ dental history form, and our office brochure. If you prefer, you may fill out the online medical/dental forms instead.

Upon arriving, you will be greeted by Silva, Rosalie and Sheila, they will make your first visit start off on a great note. While in the waiting room, enjoy the interesting artwork, educational books and spend some time with your child on the computers available in our waiting room. Please feel free to inquire about our office tour; it is a great way to acquaint you and your child with the many unique features we have incorporated in our office.

Once called back to the treatment area, you and your child will meet Dr. Y. During the visit the doctor will perform a thorough exam, tailoring their approach to your child's age, dental history and medical history. Following the exam, we will review proper oral hygiene, diet, preventive measures and growth and development with you and your child. If necessary, x-rays will be taken using a digital x-ray system, lowering the necessary radiation exposure while improving comfort and convenience.
The first visit focuses on making your child comfortable in the dental setting, while designing a dental hygiene program and diet that would reduce their risk of dental disease. Dr. Y approaches caries (cavities) prevention and treatment from both a mainstream and alternative viewpoint, always searching for less invasive, safer and more comfortable modes of treatment.
