Just as your child sees their pediatrician, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) recommends seeing a pediatric dentist by the age of 1. Starting dental visits at an early age allows us to monitor proper growth and development of the mouth. We check the teeth, gums, jaw, lips, tongue, and airway. Getting a head start on cavity prevention will make it easier to incorporate oral care into their daily routines, which in turn will set them up for a lifetime of healthy habits.
Prior to your child’s first visit to our office, you will receive an email with links to our new patient forms.
During your first visit, our friendly and courteous staff members will greet you and give you a tour of our office. For our younger patients, we have a private room to make this first visit warm and inviting. Our doctors will perform a thorough exam, tailoring their approach to your child’s age, dental history, and medical history. Following the exam, proper oral hygiene, diet, preventive measures, and growth and development with you and your child will be discussed. It is possible that a cleaning or x-rays may be recommended at this time.
The first visit is designed to be as stress-free as possible, for parents and children alike. We are here to listen. We aim to make your child comfortable in the dental setting. We hope to create a positive experience, while designing a dental hygiene program and diet that would reduce their risk of dental disease.
We are looking forward to seeing your child and making our office his/her “Dental Home!”
