Dr. Y was born in Israel and at the age of 10, moved to Toronto, Canada. Following his junior year in high school, Dr. Y moved to Irvine and finished his senior year at Woodbridge High School. After his biology education at UCI and his acceptance to the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Y married his wife, Batel, and moved to Boston, Massachusetts to begin his dental education. Dr. Y graduated with honors from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and was accepted to their pediatric dental residency at Children’s Hospital, Boston, taking the role of chief resident. After six years in Boston, many great memories, two wonderful daughters and an acceptance into the orthodontic residency at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), Dr. Y and his family moved back west to Los Angeles, once again being chosen to be the chief resident.

After graduating from UCLA, Dr. Y and his family moved back to Irvine. His family has grown since, with four beautiful children, three girls and one boy. He maintains a staff appointment at the UCLA Orthodontic Residency Program and USC Pediatric Dental Residency Program and is on staff at the Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC). Dr. Y visits local schools yearly to educate children on proper oral hygiene, diet, and even anatomy. He has lectured in various local, national and international conferences on topics in both pediatric dentistry and orthodontics. With his background in computers, his consistent desire to improve the delivery of care, and his love of dentistry, Dr. Y continuously incorporates the latest technology into preventive and restorative dental care and orthodontic care.

On a more personal note, during his time away from the office, Dr. Y enjoys playing various musical instruments, wood-working, computer graphic design, swimming, and spending time with his family.
