There are numerous companies that manufacture braces, each trying to design a more comfortable, esthetic and efficient version. Most of the options are quite similar, with several exceptions. Dr. Y continuously researches new products to ascertain which appliance system provides the greatest benefit to the patient and overall treatment outcome. We offer several types of braces in our office:
Metal braces are the most widely used type of braces, especially in youth.
Ceramic braces offer a more esthetic option to the traditional metal braces.
Lingual (tongue-side) braces offer the most esthetic option when braces are required. At Irvine Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics we use the INBRACE system, the most advanced lingual system available. By incorporating 3D imaging and robotically bent wires, treatment time is reduced by 30%, while providing a very esthetic treatment option and ease of oral hygiene maintenance.
Clear aligner therapy is an esthetic orthodontic treatment option that utilizes clear alignment trays to address mild to moderate orthodontic issues. The patient wears each aligner for 1-2 weeks and then switches to the next aligner. The number of aligners necessary is dependent on the severity of the orthodontic issues.
3D Printed Orthodontic Appliances are custom-made dental devices created using advanced 3D printing technology. These appliances, such as clear aligners, retainers, expanders, and braces components, are designed to address various orthodontic needs, including tooth alignment, jaw repositioning, and space maintenance. 3D printed orthodontic appliances enhance treatment efficiency, reduce patient visits, and offer a more comfortable and discreet option for tooth movement and other orthodontic corrections.
3D Printed Indirect Orthodontic Bonding Trays are custom-made trays designed to streamline the process of bracket placement during orthodontic treatment. Using digital scans of the patient’s teeth, these trays are 3D printed to precisely fit the dental arch and accurately position brackets on the teeth in a single step. 3D printed indirect bonding trays enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and overall experience of orthodontic bracket placement, offering a modern, technology-driven solution in orthodontics.
